Wilpattu National Park

One of the main national parks situated in the North Central Province is the Wilpattu National Park. The Park which was closed for several years owing to the North-East war is now opened to the public and tourists. Wilpattu is the biggest national park in Sri Lanka covering around 500 sq. miles. Around thirty sand rimmed freshwater lakes surrounded by grass and high forest are where the animals and birds are best seen.

Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. A remote camera survey was conducted in Wilpattu from July to October 2015 by the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust. A sample of forty nine individual leopards were photo-captured in the surveyed area and the core area density was between that of Yala National Park's Block I and Horton Plains National Park.

There are many Villu (small type of lakes) and lakes at Wilpattu. This is identified as the main topographical feature of the park. They are often flat and basin like while containing purely rain water. Wilpattu national park is the oldest and perhaps the most important protected area in Sri Lanka. It's fauna and flora are representative of the dry lowland zone. It is unfortunate that many species living in the park are threatened species.

Meemure (මීමුරේ)

Meemure is a small village. It is a unique place in the central province of Sri Lanka. Around the perimeter, the village has a ring of mountains named Knuckles mountain range, with greenery, springs and waterfalls. This village has been covered from the most of urban activities which helps to keep the true beauty of the nature and clean air.  Simple lifestyles of the villagers and their paddy fields, mist in the morning add essence to the beauty of Meemure.

Famous movie of Sri Lanka called ‘Sooriya Arana’ was directed in this area which leads people to put their attention about this place. Now this is a main travel destination for camping, hiking and many more leisure travel activities. Most people try to visit regardless of the distance and the hard road because experiencing the beauty of this area is worth than that.

The Great National Heritage "SIGIRIYA"

The ancient fortress of king "Kashayapa" which is nominated for a seven wonders of the world. People already known this one as a Eighth Wonder of The Word Rock Fortress Call "SIGIRIYA". You should see this one by your own eyes how this huge rock they use as a complete secure fortress. Still there is mystery to unlock how they pump water to top of the rock. Once you there you can see water ponds and many more nice structures top of the "Sigiriya" Rock.

Arts and Painting which are illustrated on the Sigiriya really famous all ariund the world because those really old. 

Once you go mid way up of the fortress you will see giant lion foots and a stair way to the last part of the top of the rock. Actually real meaning of the name of SIGIRIYA is Lion Rock.

I'm pretty sure you will enjoy once you reach SIGIRIYA. There are lots of things to see which I cant explain and nature.

YAALA NATIONAL PARK

Basically Sri Lanka is having high density of bio diversity. With reference to this feature wild life of Sri Lanka become dynamically famous among both local and international travelers. 

This is the one of best place which are really nice to see while you travel Sri Lanka. Take a look;

"YAALA" National Park.

Known as second largest national park in Sri Lanka and "Leopard" is the famous creature. There are five blocks contain this park and two blocks already welcome for visitors. Wild elephants you can see any time.

Wild Elephants adding really nice atmosphere for the National Park. You can have a close look while sitting in your safari jeep. Wonderful creature to see really close.

This is the land of "Leopards" and also symbol of the National Park. 

Surfing @ Mirissa Beach

Mirissa Beach is dynamically becoming a popular Surfer hangout during the months of November to March when it’s the rainy season on the East coast. For some reason Mirissa Beach is well known to the Japanese Surfers .
